Sao Jorge Island Gastronomy
Throughout the island, there are restaurants cooking the excellent fish and meat of Sao Jorge. Fish stew, grilled fish, typical rump of beef, greaves, linguiça (sausage) with yams, the famous clam the Caldeira de Santo Cristo and seafood are some examples from the many dishes you can taste. As desserts, “Espécies” is the one to highlight, a pastry only made in Sao Jorge. Finish with a coffee and a brandy, produced on the island.
